Only list what you have

Photograph the actual costume in your possession. Show the front, back, maker or size label when present, closures, embellishments, accessories, and every visible flaw. Brand or maker is optional and must never be guessed.

Disclose fit and condition

State the exact tagged size and brand name when known. Disclose stains, odors, pulls, missing stones, broken closures, repairs, resizing, cut tags, added panels, shortened hems, and all other alterations. A correct description matters more than a favorable condition label.

Cleanliness and intimate items

Costumes must be clean, dry, and free of smoke, pests, mold, and strong fragrance. Tights, underwear, body liners, dance belts, and similar intimate garments may be listed only when new, unused, and sealed in original packaging.

Product safety

Federal product-safety laws can apply to used products and resellers. Inspect every item before listing and again before shipment. Recalled, unsafe, counterfeit, or stolen items must not be listed. Remove loose sharp pieces, undisclosed hazards, or other unsafe conditions before offering an item.

• Check the CPSC recall database before listing.
• Do not list an item with an unresolved safety concern.
• Report suspicious or unsafe activity through Dance Seconds Support.

Handling and tracked shipping

Choose a handling time you can meet, use tracked shipping, protect embellishments and structured pieces, and enter tracking promptly. If shipment will be late, notify the buyer and support cancellation or refund rights required by law.

Ship only after verified payment

Do not ship from a reservation, screenshot, email, message, or buyer-supplied receipt. Ship only when the Dance Seconds order center shows Paid — Ready to ship. Use the exact address shown in the order and do not accept an address change through a message.

Preserve seller evidence

Keep the original listing photos, close-ups of every disclosed flaw, a dated pre-shipment condition photo, packing and sealed-package photos, carrier acceptance receipt, tracking record, and order-center messages until at least 90 days after payout or until every protection claim and payment dispute is closed.

Seller verification and taxes

Sellers must be 18 or older. Dance Seconds may request identity, bank, tax, and contact information when payment-provider rules, tax reporting, the INFORM Consumers Act, or other law requires it. Sellers remain responsible for maintaining records and reporting taxable income, including gains where applicable.
